Youth Leader - Cyclone Amphan

I am Priya Jayakumar, a senior at Caravel Academy. I volunteer with CC for the last 5 years and been part of CC’s Autism Awareness Walk, Socks Drive, Cyclone Amphan Relief Drive (CC’s first youth-led initiative), and community service at Wilmington and Elkton. Outside of Charity Crossing, I enjoy volunteering at AI Dupont, I am my school’s student government president, and am an avid member of Jefferson Awards. In recognition of my volunteer activities, I have received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (5 times), Governor’s Youth Volunteer Service Award, and Multiplying Good’s One in a Million Award. I enjoy dancing and baking. I completed my Arangetram and used my gift money to plant 6,000 trees in India. As a youth leader, I hope to make the world a better place for everyone through my service!

 I am a 10th grader at Downingtown East High School, PA. I am an avid swimmer and have a passion to play Mridangam and play football. I feel very happy for helping people who are in need and volunteer to support, and contribute to the community. I always wanted to help people who are in need and support them. By joining, Charity Crossing Inc., a non-profit organization helps me to take part in fundraising, and contribute to the community in all possible ways..

I am a 9th grader at Appoquinimink High School. I am a member of the National Honor Society, Delaware Swim Team, Appoquiniimink Marching Band, and Charity Crossing. My hobbies include drawing, reading and singing. I am very grateful to be one of the Youth Leaders for Charity Crossing and take on that role with a strong and positive mindset. There are so many issues in today’s society whether it be across the world or right in our city I am hoping to make a lasting impact to help as many people and our environment as possible through Charity Crossing. I hope to encourage and lead others to join and volunteer in Charity Crossing. I am humbled and elated to serve as a Youth Leader and start Initiatives and volunteer at events with Charity Crossing.

I am a rising Junior at Concord High School (Wilmington, Delaware). I am 16 years old and my hobbies include dance, field hockey, painting, and spending time with friends and family. As a youth leader for Charity Crossing, I aspire to make a positive difference in society. There are immeasurable amounts of valid issues occurring in the world today, and I hope to have a lasting positive impact on those issues through my work at Charity Crossing. As a youth leader I hope to encourage and motivate others to partake in Charity Crossing events; the more people involved, the greater impact we have! I am extremely excited to participate in all of the efforts and I am thrilled to be working on my own initiatives as a part of CC.

I am going to be a Freshman in high school. Some of my hobbies include Indian classical dance, piano, and calligraphy. Helping and giving back to the community is something that I was always inclined towards and passionate about. Charity Crossing provided me a platform through which I could make a difference in my community. In my three years of involvement with this organization, I have participated in many initiatives and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of them. I hope to help as many people as we can especially during these uncertain times and give people a reason to smile.

I am Charity Crossing’s digital design youth leader! I’m currently a junior in the Digital Technology Communications and Humanities pathways at Appoquinimink High School. My interests include making art, listening to music, and advocating for social justice.

Contribution: I will contribute to Charity Crossing’s initiatives by putting forth my expertise and skills in digital design. My intention is to create art that will spread awareness on a variety of issues and inspire people to come together to solve those issues and give back to society. I want to use my art to advocate for the community and spark others to join our cause as well.

I am a rising sophomore at Concord High School. I enjoy playing cello and am currently part of the Philadelphia Sinfonia Orchestra.  As a principal cellist with the Philadelphia Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra, I’ve performed at senior living centers in Meadows, PA. As an avid cello player, I have also volunteered my time playing at the Ronald McDonald house and AI DuPont hospital. Another passion of mine is Indian classical dance. I have performed at fundraisers to help the Chennai flood relief in 2016 and the Yemen humanitarian crisis. I am excited to participate in this organization and make a positive impact on those in need.

My name is Abhijeet Parmar.  I am a freshman at the University of Delaware. I have been volunteering with Charity Crossing for about 2 years now starting back in 2020. I have been involved in 16 Charity Crossing initiatives and co-led in 3 others. I enjoy watching and playing sports.

Charity Crossing has allowed me to provide for my community on a state-wide level. Not only in Delaware but in other states too such as Maryland. College can be awfully time-consuming but I still make sure I commit time to Charity Crossing to assist communities in any way possible.

My name is Saathvik Swamy and I’m 14 years old. I have lived in Delaware since my birth and I will be a freshman at Appo High School. I like playing and watching sports. I have volunteered for charity crossing since I was 10 years old. I have volunteered in food serves in Wilmington, Walmart donation distribution in Elkton, clothing sorting drives, adopt a highway, and more activities. I have also lead a school supply drive and raised funds through a school soccer tournament which was donated to charity crossing. Volunteering helped to get the Presidential and Governers youth award this year.

My name is Sahil Langote.  I am a sophomore at the Charter School of Wilmington and would like to become a neuroscientist in the future. Last year, I placed fourth at the Maryland Brain Bee. I have been volunteering at Charity Crossing for 4 years, and have made & donated over a hundred masks. Recently I also passed the Government of India’s Central Hindi Directorate Exam. Because of this, I volunteered to teach Hindi to younger children.

My name is Shravan Subramaniam and I’m 16 years old. I am currently a junior in Appoquinimink High School and have been volunteering with Charity Crossing for a couple of years now. I have been involved in many projects such as the drives held by the New Castle County Police as well as participated in the canned goods drive. My hobbies include watching and playing sports. I have always enjoyed giving to others who may be less fortunate than me and Charity Crossing has helped me reach more people than I could have ever done myself.

My name is Abhinav Parmar. I am a sophomore at the Charter School of Wilmington. I have been volunteering with Charity Crossing for about 2 years now starting back in 2020. I have been involved in 16 Charity Crossing initiatives and co-led in 3 others. I enjoy watching sports and playing football.

Charity Crossing has given me a platform to assist my community in a much larger capacity than I could ever imagine. It’s allowed me to make connections to other volunteers and meet new people. During some of the Sunday Serves the weather might not be pleasant and nowhere near-optimal conditions but the visual gratitude from the community makes any type of condition bearable.
