What a weekend!
In partnership with Charity Crossing, we held the 10th Senate District’s inaugural Multicultural Festival in Middletown’s Silver Lake Park on Saturday — a celebration of our diverse community.
I couldn’t be happier with the turnout and support we received from residents. I’m delighted to see so many people recognize that our community, state and nation are at their strongest when we embrace our wide diversity of cultures, religions and ethnic backgrounds.
I believe so strongly in this ideal that in 2017 I founded the Multicultural Coalition, a group of neighbors working together to foster understanding and recognize that we share more in common than not.
This group has been working for months to bring this event together and I’m so proud of what they accomplished. The vendors, the food and the performances were incredible! I can’t wait to start working on next year’s festival!
