Unprecedented & historical Flood of Chennai and Cuddalore
When the unprecedented and historical flood caused significant damage to Chennai, Cuddalore, and many towns and villages in northern Tamil Nadu in 2015, the USA friends showed their compassion. Within 6 weeks USA Friends sent 150,000 cloths in 7 containers from 5 different USA locations (Bear, Houston, Tempe, Seattle, and Cleveland).
For 6 weeks, volunteers worked 7 days a week non-stop. They collected clothes, sorted them, packed them, and shipped them. Many volunteers had life events (including deaths in the family). Nothing stopped them from helping the flood victims.
All 150,000 clothes were successfully distributed to the flood victims living in not only Chennai and Cuddalore but also many small villages and towns in northern Tamil Nadu.
