A blissful Holiday Dress Giveaway event at Middletown, Delaware on December 13th, 2020 Our sincere thanks to Charity Crossing volunteers and our partners Mother Nature, (Middletown Police Department, New Castle County Police, Bombas, Columbiettes, and Food Bank of Delaware) for their support for this event. The weather was just perfect for an outdoor event.
Thank you Louise Cummings for connecting us with NCCPD and MPD community service unit. Their partnership helped us ensure these expensive clothing went to the deserving community members. This gave us the opportunity to break the barrier between the community and the law enforcement officers (LOE).
The entire team was such a pleasure to work with. They were friendly, kind, joyful, and the list goes on. Many of the volunteers had a first time face-to-face interaction with LOEs, which they enjoyed very much.
All hands on deck. Thursday morning at 9:15 am, I informed Cpt. Treadwell that we need to pick up 180 food pantry boxes from Food Bank of Delaware by 1 pm. CC does not have volunteers to pick up. As such we may not be able to give food pantry boxes this time. Cpt. Treadwell said, ” Jay, many families are going through a difficult time. We must give food boxes. We got this.” A few hours later he called and said, “All food boxes have been collected. We are all set.”
A shout-out to Mirunalini, Srinivas Jonnagadla, Rupali Langote, Raja Karpurapu, Edwin Chrisostam, Samir, and our NCCPD and MPD friends for their help with transporting donations, chairs, tables, tents, etc.
Wishing you all happy holidays and a happy New Year!
